RAMAKRISHNA ANANDA

Doing Work that Fits You

Want work that’s in harmony with your nature?

This is part four of a five-part Work Series. The Bhagavad Gita advises us to seek work that is in harmony with our nature and to do the task at hand. Desires can be fulfilled or transformed by the power of the supreme self. If we find soul-centered work, we develop divine memory and live enlightened lives.

Essential Life Skills, Work, Dharma
  • From the Bhagavad Gita, hear Krishna’s advice to Arjuna about work
  • Seeking to do work contrary to your nature will create conflict between your inner and outer self
  • Ramakrishna Ananda shares how he experienced increasing opportunities by doing his best at what work came his way
  • Desires may lead to work which is inappropriate for you, causing you to lose your way
  • Discover how skill in action involves conquering desires by the power of your serene self
  • Remember that you are a soul here to express Spirit in your individual way and make the world better

Your Soul Expresses Through You

The consciousness of “I have to do this meaningless job in order to pay my bills” hopefully fades away as you find the work your soul wants to do through you. Ideally, you discover that you are an instrument and your soul does the labor through your mind and body. In time, you recognize that your soul is uplifting humanity with you and your work.
