RAMAKRISHNA ANANDA

The Bullet and the Kite

Find out how to let go of the causes of misery in your life

Ramakrishna Ananda relates two stories that illustrate how we unnecessarily  hold onto our troubles. The first, involving a bullet, is from his early childhood. The second, involving a kite, is a classic yoga story. These parables teach us that, once aware, we can often let go of what is causing our misery.

Discarding the Bullet

I did dispose of the bullet and my anxieties went away. I found that lesson to be true throughout my life. Am I holding onto something that’s causing me anxiety, conflict and difficulty? Is there a way to appropriately dispose of it? Why carry around things that cause you trouble?

  • What happens when 8-year-old Ramakrishna Ananda has a bullet in his pocket and the police are coming?
