This is the first of a five-part Work Series. We are born to do and act. Yoga shows us how to act in such a way that we grow spiritually. The Bhagavad Gita directs us to work with the motive of performing right action rather than seeking rewards. Rewards will come but right action is the key. This is one of life’s most important lessons.
So, I leave you with this primary thought — what is your motive when you work? Let it be attuned action. For example, when yogis leave this planet they want to feel, “I was an instrument through whom Spirit moved, uplifted humanity, and helped world ecological problems, etc.” We want to be able to know, “Yes, I had the experience of Spirit and consciousness flowing through me performing these actions.”
We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.
This commitment is solely between you and your inner self.
