Normal bhakti, an actual flow of love for God, is wonderful. However, it’s really just the beginning. If you are fortunate, your bhakti prepares your nerves and mind for higher intensities of ecstatic love called prema.
One day the spirit within you rushes into Infinite Spirit. It’s astonishing, intense. You lose awareness of your body, the world, and your earthly identity. You enter ecstasy, light, and Spirit everywhere. You’re experiencing prema, divine ecstatic love.
One day your love wants to grow more and more intense. If you’re comfortable and the circumstances are right, you allow this intense love to become more and more ecstatic. You just let it roar. You allow it to prevail, take over, do its will.
