An important function of being alive is the ability to learn. Through life’s experiences, we learn and create samskaras (impressions in our nervous system) which become habits. Yogis seek to create new samskaras and form beneficial habits which lead to happiness and fulfillment. Learn how to create new patterns and change your life.
An important part of living is to learn the effects of our actions. We become aware of how our speech and actions affect others. We are able to sense the one universal self, the soul as this develops.
Ultimately we learn there is only one life manifesting in all these various forms. The realization that the same life within us is alive in others is called the mahat atman. As a result of cause-and-effect relationships with many people, we gain a universal sympathy for the way others feel. This is one of the steps of knowledge which every yogi is going to have one day. You discover the life principle working equally in all, and you experience incredible joy and empathy.
We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.
This commitment is solely between you and your inner self.
