RAMAKRISHNA ANANDA

Shakti and the Gunas

Would you like greater balance and harmony in your life?

Episode 2 of 6 of the Shakti and Realization Seminar — The easiest way to have self-realization is to know shakti (creative energy, life force). One of the most blessed ways to live your life and have a realization of shakti is to become sattvic (balanced) in your mind, thoughts and attitude. Discover how you can overcome the inertness of tamas guna and the mindless activity of rajas guna so that you can live in sattvas, the state of harmony which takes you to a profound experience of the shakti within and around you.

Online Seminars, Gunas

One of the Easiest Ways to Have Realization

If you want to know shakti, you first find and transcend tamas guna into rajas, and then transcend rajas into centering in sattvas. One of the easiest ways to have self-realization is to attune with shakti. It is a blessed way to live — daily meeting with shakti, becoming more sattvic and, in time, abiding in spiritual awareness.

  • God, the Infinite Spirit, manifests the whole universe. Yogis call this power Shakti or the Divine Mother
  • Like fire and its power to burn are closely connected, God and His power to create act as a unified force
  • Furthermore, shakti creates everything through its three gunas – qualities, or forces. In the discoveries of yoga we find everything that exists is a combination of sattvas, rajas and tamas guna
  • Tamas guna is the quality of inertia and density; rajas guna is activity; sattvas guna is balance
  • It’s very helpful to meditate and discover that you are a manifestation, a play of the gunas, which are attributes of shakti
  • Through postures and meditation you can live beyond the gunas while expressing through them
