This is part four of a five-part Work Series. The Bhagavad Gita advises us to seek work that is in harmony with our nature and to do the task at hand. Desires can be fulfilled or transformed by the power of the supreme self. If we find soul-centered work, we develop divine memory and live enlightened lives.
The consciousness of “I have to do this meaningless job in order to pay my bills” hopefully fades away as you find the work your soul wants to do through you. Ideally, you discover that you are an instrument and your soul does the labor through your mind and body. In time, you recognize that your soul is uplifting humanity with you and your work.
We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.
This commitment is solely between you and your inner self.
