What Is Enlightenment? — Part 2

Would you like to live in ever-new joy?

Enlightenment is moving from ignorance of Spirit into spiritual awareness — and then living a spiritually centered life. Discover what enlightenment is through the inspiring words of The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali:  The Book of the Spiritual Man by Charles Johnston.

Enlightened, Fulfilled Beings

Spiritual men and women live in the world as enlightened, fulfilled beings. You are no longer an ignorant ego creature, but live as a conscious son or daughter of Spirit. Now free, you have left the prison and tyranny of the heart/mind field and entered into the joy of a successfully completed journey. You enter into the divine play, conscious that you are a spiritual being and that God is furthering creation through you and others. You joyfully take your part. You want to be an eternal devotee, an eternal lover of God. Enlightenment is rising from ignorance into spiritual consciousness and then living a spiritually centered life.

From The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali:  The Book of the Spiritual Man by Charles Johnston:

  • She/he who has attained enlightenment is wrapped about with the essence of all that can be known.
  • Through obedience to the will of God, we come into oneness of being with the Divine.
  • He/she is initiated into the Creator’s view of the universe, seeing all life as God sees it.
  • There comes a ceasing of sorrow and the burden of toil.
  • The Creator has manifested as numerous individual souls which evolve through lifetimes into enlightened spiritual men and women.
  • You discover that your life and all life exists for the purposes of the soul and the Infinite Spirit.
