RAMAKRISHNA ANANDA

Do You Have Lasting Joy?

Can we go beyond delusion to find ever-new joy?

Yogis have found the way to ever-new joy. Explore what happens as you stop pursuing the objects of enjoyment. Learn how you can have ananda, true lasting joy.

Sunday Morning Sessions

Yoga is a Path of Joy

Why is yoga called the path of joy? First, one gives up pursuing enjoyment. The day you stop pursuing enjoyment is the day you become a yogi. You quit the delusion that external objects or situations are going to bring happiness. Yogis have only one pursuit:  It may be called God or oneness of body, mind and spirit, oneness between your individuality and the Divine. The main pursuit is God and the wholeness of life.

  • Yoga defines delusion as pursuing objects or situations in order to become happy
  • Through dedicated yoga practice one can experience ananda, everlasting, ever-expanding, ever-new joy
  • Peace comes from giving up the pursuit of the objects of enjoyment
  • From peace comes discrimination and the power to make decisions which lead Godward
  • After peace comes ananda — eternal, expanding, personal, delightful joy
  • Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33)

How to Succeed

As you may know, we do not charge for our courses. All Yoga World content is free and available to you with our blessings. However, we do have a simple, but important request that’s key to the transformations necessary to succeed on the path.

We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.

I Commit to Serve
