We focus on Pema Chodron’s discourses on the seven steps of loving kindness. As we live with open hearts, we rejoice in ordinary things and realize we are living in a sacred world.
A Buddhist and a yogi both want the events of life to soften and open their hearts, not harden and close them. This attitude and practice of softening and opening the heart is called Bodhichitta — chitta means mind, heart or attitude; bodhi means awake, enlightened, or completely open. Those who train in awakening Bodhichitta are called warriors, warriors of non-aggression who hear the cries of the world.
We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.
This commitment is solely between you and your inner self.
