“Faith is the cornerstone on which yoga is based,” said the great yogi Sri Ramakrishna. The kind of faith he was talking about is called shraddha, a conviction about the love and presence of God which leads to a deep trust and tranquility. Discover how you can experience the spiritual knowledge, tranquility and vigor which come when you open yourself to shraddha.
Faith leads to tranquility and sustains a yogi in a state of comfort and protection — like a Divine Mother protecting you. Faith is a beneficial healing state which bestows a wonderful energy, making your mind and nerves stronger and stronger. Your mind grows more controlled and able to concentrate. In such a mind dawns the light of spiritual knowledge. A yogi sees the true nature of things, ie, sees things with a spiritual perspective.
