RAMAKRISHNA ANANDA

Yoga is Progressive Joy

Are you happy? Would you like more joy in your life?

Joy is the essence of awakening to your spiritual nature. It comes through the practice all yoga paths, growing through stages of bliss, ecstasy and arriving at ananda, ever-new joy. It transforms and empowers, as well as thrills and delights. Discover how you can cultivate joy through yoga. You can live in ever-new, never-boring, progressive joy.

Devotional Yoga

Joy is Essential

Yoga is a path of progressive joy. As you practice, you go through many emotional states, finding peace and serenity which gradually develops into ecstasy and bliss. Then comes the bursting joy — an ever-new, never-boring, wondrous connection with the Divine. Your life is filled with joy which grows more and more beautiful each year. This joy of yogis is called ananda, ever-new joy.

Joy is an essential factor in yoga progress. Maybe it bubbles within your being, bringing intoxication and delight. Possibly it is a steady joy like a flowing river. It may begin in your heart, spine or brain. But one day it fills all the cells of your body. This joy indicates you have a strong connection with soul and Spirit. In addition to making you extremely happy, it empowers you to live more and more like a yogi. It is a big event when joy comes to you.

  • Joy is a central factor in yoga realization
  • Ananda is the yoga term to ever-new, never-boring joy
  • Begin by shedding tension and turbulence from the body, mind and heart
  • Peace often comes first, bringing harmony, a sense of well being and an untroubled mind/heart
  • Harmony and well being develop into growing bliss and ecstasy
  • Often joy starts in one of the energy centers and eventually fills your whole being and awareness
