RAMAKRISHNA ANANDA

Keys to Satisfaction in Life

What are your true needs? Are they being met?

We all seek happiness and become fulfilled when our true needs are met. The question is:  what are our true needs and how are they met? Mystics tell us that one secret to finding lasting satisfaction is to receive. To do this we need to make room in our lives, opening ourselves to the good which we seek. We can learn how to prepare for more joy, peace and happiness by making space to receive.

Sunday Morning Sessions

The Secret to Fulfillment

The Jewish mystic Rabbi David Aaron (Endless Life, the Ancient Path of Kabbalah) writes that it is necessary to receive in order to find satisfaction in life. We are often so focused on doing, making and getting that we fail to open ourselves to fulfillment. We try to impress and coerce God and/or the universe to give us what we think is appropriate. Fulfillment in life, especially on the spiritual path, comes when we learn to receive.

It is necessary to make space in order to receive. Often we are unable to accept what we seek because there is no room for it in our lives. The spiritual life teaches us to open our hearts and minds for the fulfillment which the universe holds in store for us.

  • The main definition of satisfaction is to fulfill needs
  • We often confuse true needs with desires, wishes and expectations
  • Psychiatrists and psychologists recommend that we work on reestablishing SOS (Safety, Organization and Stability) in order to heal and renew
  • Rabbi David Aaron (Endless Life, the Ancient Path of Kabbalah) explains that satisfaction, especially on the spiritual path, is found mainly through receiving
  • Mystics teach to make space in our minds, hearts and lives for that which we wish to receive
