Let Your Real Self Do the Yoga

Open to the joy of your true self

Sri Aurobindo’s system of Integral Yoga explains that yoga is a progressive surrender of the ego (the impostor) to the true self. Explore the three stages of Integral Yoga as described by Indra Sen. Discover the joy that living from your true nature brings into your life.

Essential Life Skills, Sri Aurobindo
  • Baba Hari Dass:  In the early stage of yoga, it is false and the doer is also false. But after faithful practice, the false sadhana becomes true and the doer becomes the real doer.
  • Sri Aurobindo:  The passage from the lower to the higher is the aim of yoga.
  • The various schools of yoga each have specific methods to help one evolve from the lower nature to the higher nature
  • The Integral Yoga method is to put our entire conscious being into relationship and contact with the Divine
  • The lower nature is transformed by the Divine
  • As we practice yoga, we can discover our true self

The True Self

In the view of yoga, we’re being transformed into spiritually conscious beings — not just human expressions but spiritual expressions. So, in a sense, God Himself becomes the practitioner of the spiritual path. God Himself, the true self in us, does the yoga.
