What Are Soul Contacts?

What is the real purpose of life?

The Infinite Spirit lives and expresses in each of us as the soul. It sustains our heartbeat, breath and consciousness. Soul contacts improve our life and reinforce our progress. Ultimately, we center and live from our true self. Discover the characteristics of soul awareness. You can live in ongoing states of happiness, harmony, peace and bliss.

Keys to Higher Yogas

Our Own True Self

There are many signs which indicate soul contact. You begin to have an underlying sense of harmony even at stressful, dangerous times. You live in a growing sense of peace, untroubled by what is going on around or within you. There is a growing oneness with others, a sense of sympathy and empathy, even for strangers. You also feel wholeness, not desiring and craving all the time. You are happy with who you are and what you have. You live with the confidence that whatever you need will come to you.

Realizing the eternal, pure and painless qualities of the soul is one of the main indicators of direct soul contact. Ecstasy is also a wonderful indicator. You begin to understand the eternal quality of your soul — that it is pure and nothing can defile it. It is a manifestation of Spirit, incapable of being contaminated. The ego and nervous system can experience great pain, but the soul is beyond pain. These experiences of the soul reinforce your growth until eventually you center and live in your own true self.

  • Your soul, the presence of Spirit within you, sustains your heartbeat, breath and consciousness
  • Patanjali wrote (Yoga Sutras of Patanjali) that the purpose of life is to discover and live in your soul rather than the counterfeit self
  • One of the goals of yoga practice and meditation is to discover the true self
  • The soul is eternal, pure and painless
  • Signs that you are contacting and living in soul awareness become evident

How to Succeed

As you may know, we do not charge for our courses. All Yoga World content is free and available to you with our blessings. However, we do have a simple, but important request that’s key to the transformations necessary to succeed on the path.

We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.

I Commit to Serve

This commitment is solely between you and your inner self.
