RAMAKRISHNA ANANDA

What is the Spiritual Part of Yoga?

Find out how to live aware of Spirit in yourself and others

Yoga leads our awareness beyond body, mind and emotions to experiences and realizations of Spirit. Spirit is our essence, the source of life and consciousness.

Spiritual Development, Vidya & Avidya, Awakening, Self-Realization

The Yoga Adventure

You will have an individual, unique adventure. You grow from your present awareness into becoming a yogi. As you develop, you have a fascinating, meaningful awakening and gradually become enlightened. You discover the Spirit within you and Spirit everywhere.

  • Avidya is the outward current that keeps us ignorant of Spirit, relying on our senses, our thoughts and our false sense of self
  • Vidya is the current that takes us inward to our essence, to the soul, Infinite Spirit. As we practice yoga, we attune with vidya
  • Yoga is an adventure in which each individual — in their own way — awakens to Spirit, to the soul within
  • The word religion comes from the Latin religio meaning to re-link. Ideally, people are relinking with Spirit through their spiritual practices
  • Learn how Sri Ramakrishna described the progression of spiritual awakening
  • Spiritual experiences lead to spiritual awakening. We discover we are spiritual beings living in a spiritual world

How to Succeed

As you may know, we do not charge for our courses. All Yoga World content is free and available to you with our blessings. However, we do have a simple, but important request that’s key to the transformations necessary to succeed on the path.

We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.

I Commit to Serve

This commitment is solely between you and your inner self.
