RAMAKRISHNA ANANDA

Exoteric vs Esoteric Spirituality

How do we become instruments of Spirit?

Exoteric spirituality is the outer form of spirituality — rituals, special clothing, beads, incense and specific behaviors, for example. Esoteric spirituality is inner — living in a conscious, ongoing relationship with the Divine. Both have value but the esoteric way is the key to a life rich in awareness of Spirit. Discover what esoteric spirituality can bring into your life.

Yoga Perspectives
  • Sri Ramakrishna:  The whole thing is to love God and taste His sweetness.
  • One who practices esoteric spirituality enjoys ongoing devotion and spiritual dynamics
  • The surrendered ego becomes an instrument of Spirit
  • Exoteric rituals and customs can often help a seeker to develop an inner spiritual life.
  • Esoteric spirituality focuses on becoming aware that Spirit is always around you, within you and also within others

Practicing Esoteric Spirituality

To practice esoteric spirituality is to live in spiritual awareness, to have devotion flowing in the heart. The ego is transformed, expressing sympathy, compassion, love and wisdom. Such people manifest kindness and goodness from within. They have opened their minds and hearts to Spirit and have become true instruments.
