The term yogi is often used in a casual way but the definition of a yogi is a high and wonderful thing. Ramakrishna Ananda shares that a yogi is one whose mind and consciousness are permanently settled in the soul and true self. The Bhagavad Gita teaches that the yogi has renounced selfish motives and is not attached to sense objects, actions or accomplishments. This realization can be found through the dedicated practice of any of the main yogas.
A yogi is a person whose mind and consciousness are settled permanently in their soul. Their mind is no longer stuck in the senses, the body, the emotions, the thoughts or the ego.
