Spirit is trying to express through us but our false sense of self, the ego, blocks its full expression. Sri Ramakrishna taught that a person is liberated when he (she) knows they are not the doer but, rather, that God is working through them. As we realize who the doer is, we become free to live in Spirit.
Sri Ramakrishna: “Only an ignorant person feels that he or she is the doer. A person truly becomes liberated in life if she or he feels, ‘God, Spirit, is doing through me. God is doing everything; I’m doing nothing.’”
