When we are hurting, our pain often feels so strong that we disconnect from God. Yogis recommend that in these times we recognize the reality of the Divine Principle, the ultimate source and cause out of which everything comes. As we tune in with the Lord, His attributes can manifest, bringing powerful inspiration and change. Explore three actions to take when you feel powerless. You can rise above the pain and chaos by living with an awareness of the Divine Principle.
Does anything in life make you feel powerless? Trying one of these three approaches may help when feeling feeble or stressed. The first one is to recognize that Spirit is the Divine principle out of which everything comes. Spirit is active, present and can express in any area of pain or sorrow. The Bible describes God as life, love, light and consuming fire. One or all of these attributes can help to deal with the challenges that come our way.
Another method is to turn to the Lord in prayer, seeking the underlying truth. God loves us. He has created this universe and is creating through us. Perhaps this is an opportunity to move in a fresh direction toward a new fulfillment. Thirdly, Patanjali (Yoga Sutras of Patanjali) recommends that we gather and focus our mental/emotional energies on the ideal, concentrating on what we would like to have happen instead of the area of concern. The Divine is good, loving and powerful. The Spirit which created and maintains everything can also move and express in our lives.
