RAMAKRISHNA ANANDA

Awaken from the Little World

Are you living under the tyranny of a jabbering mind?

Sufis at times call the world in which we live the little world. Some Christians call it the veil of tears. Living in the little world, we are limited and under the tyranny of our sense-bound mind. As we rise above the noisy mind, we gradually become conscious of the soul, our true self. You can break out of your prison and live free.

First Steps

Break Out of Prison

We can make a distinction between our thoughts and our true self. I am separate and distinct from these thoughts, but I am engaging in these thoughts right now. We ask:  Am I this mind or the one who uses this mind?

We gradually come to pure being — a sense of painlessness and timelessness. Only the body, sense of self, mind and emotions experience pain. The soul is eternal, pure and painless. We come to a place beyond time, a realm uncontaminated by anything in the world. We become free of thoughts, feelings and body identification. We realize:  I am essence. I am Spirit. This is the process for breaking out of the prison of the little world.

  • Michael A. Singer (The Untethered Soul):  People go through life under the tyranny of the jabbering mind. You are not the voice of the mind; you are the one who hears it.
  • Singer:  Basically, we recreate the outside world inside ourselves and then live in the mind. Often we don’t see the real world full of Spirit, love and grace.
  • The true self is the part of us which notices the jabbering, insecure and judging mind
  • Practice becoming aware that you are separate and distinct from your thoughts. Clearly watch them come and go
  • As we move beyond the busy mind, we gradually become soul conscious and can experience self-realization

How to Succeed

As you may know, we do not charge for our courses. All Yoga World content is free and available to you with our blessings. However, we do have a simple, but important request that’s key to the transformations necessary to succeed on the path.

We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.

I Commit to Serve

This commitment is solely between you and your inner self.
