Sayings of Lahiri

Inspirations from a great yogi

Hear inspiring quotes from a great yogi whose words will feed your soul and inspire your yoga practice. Who is Lahiri Mahasaya? He was the guru of Sri Yukteswar Giri, who in turn was the guru of Paramahansa Yogananda, the yogi who brought yoga practices to the western world in the early 1900s.

The Purpose of Life

Every one of us is here on Earth to find the truth of soul and God. Yogis feel this is the main point of having a life. But we get preoccupied and do other things.

  • Hear how the serene mind reflects God and why the restless mind cannot know the reality of God
  • The innate righteousness of the soul imparts spiritual power to the mind
  • Learn how the ego and the soul are two different states of consciousness
  • We go to God by the divine path of meditation
  • Discover what Lahiri Mahasaya says true worship is

How to Succeed

As you may know, we do not charge for our courses. All Yoga World content is free and available to you with our blessings. However, we do have a simple, but important request that’s key to the transformations necessary to succeed on the path.

We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.

I Commit to Serve

This commitment is solely between you and your inner self.

Why the Commitment?
