RAMAKRISHNA ANANDA

Chanting a Mantram

Discover how mantrams help you know your true self

A mantram (mantra) is defined as cosmic syllables which rescue the mind, thereby allowing one to rise into an awareness of soul and Spirit. Learn how to chant a mantram and discover the bliss, wisdom and love it can bring into your life.

Keys to Higher Yogas, Mantram

The Power of a Mantram

There are stages of mantram chanting. You go from chanting words out loud, to whispering, to mental, to effortless mental. Then, quite often, there is subconscious ventilation. Just keep chanting as you allow the subconscious ideas and issues to come up like bubbles in a lake and pop as they release.

The next thing that happens is the words drop off and only a rhythmic surge of energy remains. The mantram often takes you into a deep meditation, a wonderful state of well being. You have transcended the mind. This is the beauty and the power of a mantram.

  • A mantram helps one go beyond the mind and experience soul and Spirit
  • It should match your nature and be compatible with your rhythm and note
  • A mantram develops through stages as it is chanted
  • Mantrams often reveal areas of suffering and promote the release of subconscious pressures
  • Ultimately the words of the mantram drop off and a momentum develops which becomes a surge, a flow of consciousness free of words
  • Experience learning and chanting a mantram
