The Bible is full of uplifting scriptures which refer to God as light. Attunement with the light of Spirit brings peace, wisdom, goodness and guidance. As we begin to relate to Spirit, it is often through experiences of light. Through growing spiritual contact, the mind may be filled with degrees of soft light and then bright light. Contemplating the following beautiful passages can prepare you to receive the light of Spirit.
Psalm 4: Lord, lift up the light of Thy countenance upon us, which puts more gladness in my heart than I feel at harvest time. And I will both lay me down in peace and sleep, for You, Lord, make me dwell in safety.
Psalm 27: The Lord is my light and my salvation. What shall I want? What shall I fear? Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life. My enemies stumble and fall. May I dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.
We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.
