Walking Meditation

Enjoy Spirit moving through you while you walk

Yogis, as well as Buddhists and others from various traditions, practice walking meditation. They want not only to soar high in meditation, but also to live their daily lives in the realization and expression of Spirit. See how walking meditation can lead to a natural state of connection with God and add a wonderful dimension to your spiritual path.

Yoga in Daily Life, Meditation

Walk the Earth in Spiritual Awareness

Walking meditation is a great way to initiate sahaj, a natural state of connection with God. The main thing is to live in spiritual awareness. This is called sahaj samadhi, natural samadhi. Develop the ability to walk the earth while aware of Spirit. In an advanced state of sahaj, you live in ongoing awareness of Spirit day and night. You are aware of Spirit in all phases of your life.

  • Through the ages, yogis have found that the most important goal of life is to discover and live in the awareness of Spirit
  • Spirit is your essence, your true self
  • The Spirit within wants to express attributes like love, care, compassion, wisdom, truthfulness, creativity, helpfulness and happiness
  • Sahaj samadhi is being aware of Spirit wherever you go, whatever you are doing
  • Contact with the earth is good for the nerves and helps to maintain the rush of kundalini energy in your spine and brain
  • Thich Nhat Hanh describes three phases of walking meditation
