RAMAKRISHNA ANANDA

On Self-Realization

Explore the Six Treasures of Shankara to find ever-new joy

Because yogis seek to discover their true self, Ramakrishna Ananda shares the Six Treasures which lead to self-realization.

Yoga Perspectives, Awakening, Joy

Self-Realization According to Shankara

Self-realization is a clear and established awareness of the truth of our essential nature. Why is such awareness so hard to discover? Because we’ve got a confused sense of self called the ego. We’ve got all kinds of memories that ignore and refuse self-realization. That’s why it’s often hard to work our way to the clarity of our essential nature.

  • We are individualizations of Spirit, pure consciousness
  • We do not acquire self-realization; we awaken to it
  • Shankara suggested that on the journey to self-realization we practice and enjoy the Six Treasures

How to Succeed

As you may know, we do not charge for our courses. All Yoga World content is free and available to you with our blessings. However, we do have a simple, but important request that’s key to the transformations necessary to succeed on the path.

We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.
