Are you progressing in yoga? Sri Ramakrishna taught that if you are practicing archery you start by trying to hit a tree, then a reed, then a candlewick and finally, a flying bird. Learning yoga can be like that — going from one step to another. There is another approach to yoga, however. You already have yoga and Spirit within you. All you need to do is wash away the blockages and you’ll make progress. Explore the different ways you can release blockages to consciously abide in your true self.
Admit new input. Welcome it. Dare to be confused. Admit you don’t know. Seek a way out of your honest, genuine, deep confusion. Practice with intensity and repetition. Be awkward, gawky and undeveloped. There’s no shame, no blame, in learning. Go ahead, practice. Do it slowly, thoroughly. Get feedback from an experienced devotee. He/she understands. They’ve been through similar challenges and have moved forward.
We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.
This commitment is solely between you and your inner self.
