Dealing with Complacency

Do you think of Spirit as a Divine Mother?

When we allow ourselves to become complacent, suffering and painful karmas often follow. Complacency weakens our momentum on the spiritual path. Invoking the Divine Mother, the dynamic, nurturing energy of Spirit, is often the remedy. Discover the strength and power which can fill your life when you invoke and honor Spirit as your Divine Mother.

Sunday Morning Sessions

Protection Against Complacency

he Divine Mother is the life force which manifests the whole universe and from which all things come into existence. Her power enables a person to grow in consciousness or, if ignored, to remain unconscious and ignorant. Suffering often results from ignoring and limiting this life force.

To a yogi the Divine Mother Durga represents protection against the complacency which keeps us from growing in awareness. She brings an infusion of Spirit, strength and power into our lives. When one approaches the Divine life force and strives to attune with It, the result is growing love, strength and joy. Becoming aware of the protection offered by the Divine Mother is a privilege of being on the spiritual path. Invite this loving guidance into your life.

  • The Divine Mother is a universal concept of Spirit in both East and West
  • Sri Ramakrishna taught that if we turn to the Divine Mother as a child approaches his/her mother, She will lovingly respond
  • Complacency causes much unnecessary suffering
  • Invoking the Divine Mother helps us to grow continuously, making us joyful, loving human beings
  • Durga represents the Divine Mother, the life force which provides protection from complacency

We are spiritual beings
“Higher consciousness (also called spiritual awareness) is the main component missing in the lives of people. We humans are spiritual beings, enlivened by Spirit. We’d have a much better world if more people discovered the already present Spirit within them.”

— Ramakrishna Ananda
