In the view of yogis, the main reason we are born as humans is to learn to love. The scriptures of the world urge us to love. The avatars, descents of Spirit who live among us and show us the way, teach love. Through yoga we can cultivate love, the heart’s true feeling. Enjoy these inspiring quotes from Sri Ramakrishna and experience the implosion of love.

In the view of yoga, we are created by the Divine to go through various experiences, eventually discovering our true nature. Then we can enter into the divine interplay between the individual soul and the Infinite Soul. Yoga practices help us develop these realizations.

Through bhakti yoga (the yoga of devotion) we can develop a personal relationship with God. The Lord, concerned with our feelings, thoughts and cares, wants to interact with us. We can live in a state of relatedness, where we have an ongoing interplay with Spirit — our spirit flows out to the Lord and the Infinite Spirit comes into us. As we relate to the Infinite in a personal way, six precious treasures are given to us.

Qualities such as patience, love and compassion are fruits of the Spirit. Through a beautiful yoga practice, you can learn how to develop new qualities and express them as part of your life. You can change and grow, becoming a blessing to humanity.

Both mystics and yogis believe that there is a higher level of consciousness beyond the normal thinking mind. We have an everyday differentiating and separating mind which is essential for survival, work and relationships. We also have a higher mind which can experience the reality of Spirit and spiritual dimensions.

The word asana means stillness or a steady, comfortable seat. The system of hatha yoga asanas or postures was developed by yogis to help people release tension and purify their bodies, so they can be comfortable and still for meditation.

Authentic hatha yoga postures, taught in an easy, natural way, is an excellent system for achieving well-being, radiant health, longevity and peace of mind. Hatha yoga postures are also a definite aid to spiritual growth.

Yoga reveals that Spirit is manifesting the universe and all living creatures. As we grow in spiritual awareness, we experience the delight and sweetness of life more and more. Through yoga we go beyond identification with matter (physical body, thoughts and feelings) to the realization that we are actually spiritual beings expressing through physical bodies.
