How Stillness Increases Your Vitality

Would you like greater health and vitality?

Yoga enables you to cultivate stillness, thus bringing a state of harmony to both mind and heart. By releasing tied-up energy, you allow a heightened level of life force into your experience. Discover how to have a better quality of life through practicing stillness.

Yoga in Daily Life

An In-Pouring of Life Force

Dedicated yoga practice brings greater health, vitality, zest for life, strength, vigor and mental sharpness. The kundalini — the spiritual energy stored within the spine — awakens. Perseverance, stamina and resilience develop. Becoming still in a yoga posture allows the prana (life force) to increase.

The built up prana imbues your personality with greater joy and magnetism. You live with greater awareness, sympathy, empathy and compassion. This increased mental awareness allows for better concentration and the ability to accomplish goals. In relaxed, utter stillness comes an in-pouring, a wonderful river of life force circulating within your being.

  • Through stillness, you can contact your happy, blissful, beautiful soul
  • Sri Ramakrishna advised devotees to meditate and come into stillness whenever seeing a calm body of water
  • Being truly still helps to develop greater spiritual energy and life force
  • As you advance in stillness, your body and nerves learn how to contain the life force rather than dissipating it
  • Yogis adopt a healthy lifestyle and diet to prepare the body and nerves to maintain higher levels of energy
  • Sri Aurobindo:  Your body becomes increasingly capable of holding whatever amount of increased vital energy is brought to bear.

We are spiritual beings
“Higher consciousness (also called spiritual awareness) is the main component missing in the lives of people. We humans are spiritual beings, enlivened by Spirit. We’d have a much better world if more people discovered the already present Spirit within them.”

— Ramakrishna Ananda

How to Succeed

As you may know, we do not charge for our courses. All Yoga World content is free and available to you with our blessings. However, we do have a simple, but important request that’s key to the transformations necessary to succeed on the path.

We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.

I Commit to Serve

This commitment is solely between you and your inner self.
