RAMAKRISHNA ANANDA

How to Read Scripture

Be uplifted and more open to expansive love

Taking the help of Swami Abhishiktananda, a Catholic priest and yogi, we delve more deeply into scripture. Be uplifted and blessed by allowing scripture reading to be more fruitful, revealing the presence of the Divine.

Essential Life Skills, Scriptures, Receptivity

Spirit Establishes a Contact

In devout scripture reading, Spirit establishes a contact between the heart of the reader and the heart of the author. Spirit transcends time and space in every physical circumstance. You commune in the divine mystery with the one who is sharing God-experience with you. Be open to receiving these blessings through time spent with holy books.

  • As you read scripture, be conscious of the presence of God
  • Be contemplative and open to greater understanding and expansive love
  • Go beyond the reasoning mind to the heart, the center of our being, where we meet the Divine
  • The words of scripture can awaken our whole being and make it vibrate for God
  • Practice opening the heart to receive the blessings of inspiring yoga passages

How to Succeed

As you may know, we do not charge for our courses. All Yoga World content is free and available to you with our blessings. However, we do have a simple, but important request that’s key to the transformations necessary to succeed on the path.

We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.

I Commit to Serve

This commitment is solely between you and your inner self.
