RAMAKRISHNA ANANDA

Purifying the Subconscious

How do we release negative subconscious habits?

The soul is the Divine within us expressing through us. Yoga students seek to prepare the body and mind to become actual reflections and expressions of the soul. Learn about the energy patterns in the nervous system called samskaras. Discover how to change your samskaras in order to reflect the beauty and wisdom of the soul.

Sunday Morning Sessions

The Rapture of God’s Name

There is no true enlightenment unless the subconscious is cleared of pain and negativity. Chanting in the rapture of God’s name is a fine way to transform the subconscious. As you chant, harmful samskaras — grooves though which energy flows — are dissolved and new ones are created. Another way to ventilate the subconscious mind is by consciously writing God’s name over and over. If a person has trouble becoming absorbed in chanting God’s name, Sri Ramakrishna recommended that seekers start by consciously and repeatedly writing the name of God.

  • Patanjali explains that we do not attain the soul but we realize it
  • People journey through lifetimes in order to completely reflect and express the soul
  • All our experiences, especially when we feel and think deeply, are called samskaras, recorded pathways in the nervous system
  • There is no true enlightenment unless the samskaras are transformed, allowing the soul to flow through our thoughts and actions
  • Joyfully chanting God’s name is a marvelous way to uplift and free the subconscious
