Awareness Meditation

Would you like to release mental/emotional turbulence?

Is your mind filled with confusion, causing you distress? Awareness meditation likely will help. The goal of awareness meditation, often called vipassana meditation, is to allow the mind to relax by letting go of everything. Find out how this meditation technique will help you to reclaim the mind and live a more productive, constructive life.

Purification of the Mind

Most meditators gather the mind and center it on a meditation object. The goal here is not concentration of the mind but purification of the mind. Purification is so invaluable because our impurities — all the thoughts and feelings and memories buzzing chaotically inside us — usually make us miserable. For most people, especially those with troubled minds, purification is an easier and better way to start meditating.

  • Awareness (vipassana) meditation is a purification of the mind — letting go of everything and allowing the mind to relax
  • The object of vipassana meditation is to generate peace, health, and well being for yourself and others
  • While observing the breath, watch the thoughts come and go, noticing them and then releasing them
  • Dedicated practice of awareness meditation takes us from gross levels of interior conflict to subtle levels of attunement with Spirit
  • Discover the awareness technique that enables a clear mind and heart

As you may know, we do not charge for our courses. All Yoga World content is free and available to you with our blessings. However, we do have a simple, but important request that’s key to the transformations necessary to succeed on the path.
