Three forces, called gunas, can impact your life in a negative or positive way. Sattvas guna, the guna of balance and harmony, improves your self-concept and opens you to an awareness of Spirit. Discover yoga practices that can help you overcome tamas guna (the force of inertness) and rajas guna (the force of mindless activity) so that you may live in sattvas guna.
Perhaps you start out not feeling good about yourself — you have a destructive ego. With yoga practice it becomes a sattvic, healthy ego. Then you transcend the ego into soul experience. You begin to stay in the soul and have spiritual realization. The mirror of meditation reveals the Divine reality which created you. Your soul is revealed and the yoga progression happens. You consolidate this awareness of Spirit in the way you speak and act in the world. You live a full life as a result of becoming aware of who you truly are.
We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.
This commitment is solely between you and your inner self.
