The Secret of Happiness

Would you like to live in an ocean of joy?

Here are some beautiful passages from The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna which can inspire us to seek and find happiness. Find out how opening to Spirit leads to true happiness. Below are quotes from The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna:

First Steps, The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, Happiness

Some Great Stories

Some of the great stories that Sri Ramakrishna loved to tell contain the secret of happiness. He shared these passages more than once or twice because they were very important to him. Sri Ramakrishna encouraged yogis to experience the happiness of spiritual communion with the soul in every pore of the body. He said, “The realization of God gives ten million times more happiness” than normal physical pleasure.

  • What will a man gain by knowing many scriptures? The one thing needful is to know how to cross the river of the world.
  • He alone is clever who sees that God is real and all else is illusory. What need have I of other information?
  • Now and then man catches a glimpse of his real self and becomes speechless with wonder. At such times he swims in an ocean of joy.
