RAMAKRISHNA ANANDA

Fulfilled Living

Does a joy-filled life appeal to you?

As human beings we are called to awaken to our spiritual nature and interplay with the Infinite Spirit. Through yoga we learn to calm the mind and heart to discover the true self. We find that life is a lila (a divine drama) and that Spirit would like to move and express through us. Playing our part consciously leads to a fulfilled life brimming with joy.

Yoga in Daily Life

Awaken to Spirit

We are each called to awaken to our spiritual nature and interplay with the Divine. Practicing yoga, we become increasingly more content, loving and joyful. We discover the true self, allowing our faculties and talents to express more fully.

The great yogi Sri Ramakrishna (1836 to 1886) taught that we can be partners with God in a lila (divine play). As co-creators with the Lord, we can help the world become a better place. A fulfilled life involves each of us discovering, in our own way, the reality of Spirit and then playing our part.  Spiritual life then becomes very exciting and inspiring, bringing deep joy and fulfillment.

  • Patanjali (Yoga Sutras of Patanjali) teaches that life provides the opportunity to learn and to become free
  • By calming the mind and heart, we are able to contact the buddhi (witness consciousness) which reveals the underlying harmony of life
  • Through understanding and working with karma (the law of cause and effect), we refine our character and learn important life lessons
  • Most seekers, especially bhaktas (devotional yogis), begin to view life as a lila, a divine play
  • Sri Ramakrishna recommended that we go beyond absorption in Spirit (samadhi) to play our part in the divine play
