Dedicated yoga practice leads to an awareness of the inner self. Learn the Hong Sau/So Hum method which helps still the breath and can bring kumbhaka (breath poise). As breath poise goes on and on, you become absorbed, experiencing the light of the true self.
When you meet your inner guru, it is usually the result of kumbhaka. Your breath is poised, your focus is at the third eye and you are unaware of the body. It seems as if you are not breathing at all. This serene pause in the breath is called kumbhaka.
Hong Sau/So Hum is a yoga practice which helps stimulate this process. Watch the breath come and go from the nostril rims, or the third eye, as you chant either Hong Sau or So Hum. The breath becomes very calm. This practice can take you to a wonderful state of absorption. As a result, you experience the light and presence of the atman, the true self, which serves as the inner guru or guide.
We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.
This commitment is solely between you and your inner self.
