RAMAKRISHNA ANANDA

The Yogi Discovers The Source

Are you open to living in a loving relationship with Spirit?

Yogis describe life as a lila, a divine play. Practicing the Stage Light technique as described in the Panchadasi helps us become aware that the light of the soul is always shining on our lives. This develops into the realization that life is a divine play and we are individual lights interplaying with the Infinite Light. We behold the material world as a manifestation of Spirit. Living with an awareness of the soul and its gifts of light and consciousness can bring great joy, bliss and love into your life.

Life is a Lila

The Stage Light practice from the Panchadasi is helpful in coming to know your own soul. The technique is based on the lights which shine down on the stage before, during and after a play. Consider your life as a drama being played out under the radiant light of the soul. When the drama is finished and everyone has gone home, the light still shines.

This is one way to understand the soul. Your true self is like the stage light. It shines before your life, during your life and after your life. For example, think of an event going on in your life currently. Sense that your soul is shining throughout the process:  before, during and after each event. This practice can bring great comfort and leads to the realization that life is a lila, a divine play in which the soul is always shining.

  • Yogis seek to sense inner bliss, love and light. Your nature determines which you experience first
  • The emotional devotee (bhakta) usually finds love first, followed by bliss and light
  • The mental and will devotees (jnana and raja) often find bliss and light first — and then discover love
  • You can develop an awareness of the ongoing presence of the soul through the Stage Light practice as described in the Panchadasi
  • This practice matures into the realization that we are individual lights interplaying in a loving relationship with the Infinite Light
