Light, Love and Bliss

Spirit is the essence of the universe. As your awareness develops, you can experience Spirit as light, love or bliss. The practices of yoga help you assimilate more light into your being. Ultimately you can dwell in the transformational love and light of Spirit.

Scriptures are one place to encounter light. The light of Spirit shines on you as you read spiritual books, becoming part of your thoughts and feelings through assimilation. Four books which help one open to Spirit are the Bible, The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

  • The practices of yoga prepare us to receive higher awareness
  • Consciousness can be experienced as love, light and bliss. Whichever aspect you experience first usually reveals the other two
  • Yogis gain inspiration from spiritual books such as the Bible, The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
  • Postures, meditation and the character-building techniques of Patanjali are yoga practices which focus on removing blockages
  • Yoga devotees welcome healing and change by opening themselves to the transforming aspects of Spirit
  • Ultimately, yogis become dwellers in the light, living as instruments of Spirit
