Stages of Bhakti Yoga

Are you aware of God’s presence every day?

If you are dominantly emotional, bhakti yoga may be the best path for you. As you practice bhakti techniques, you move through various spiritual stages. As you develop a one-pointed focus, it will grow into spiritual love and lift you to bhavas (moods of love) and other high states of awareness. Discover the dimensions of God’s love as you move through the stages of bhakti yoga.

Let Your Love Flow

In my experience of sharing yoga for decades, I find that bhakti yoga is usually the easiest path. People can become spiritually awakened to soul and Spirit if they allow their emotions to grow into a flow of love to the Lord.

Through bhakti yoga you can discover your true self. You find that you are a spiritual being living in a spiritual world.

  • Companionship is key — surround yourself with fellow seekers and uplifting scriptures
  • Good spiritual companionship leads to increased faith
  • Yearning develops a one-pointed focus of thoughts/emotions on the ideal
  • Love begins and grows into a strong, powerful relationship with the Lord
  • Bhavas (moods of love) are experienced as you and the Lord enjoy one another’s company
  • As a result of the high experiences of bhakti yoga, sooner or later you become aware of God’s presence at all times

How to Succeed

As you may know, we do not charge for our courses. All Yoga World content is free and available to you with our blessings. However, we do have a simple, but important request that’s key to the transformations necessary to succeed on the path.

We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.
