Dealing with Your Fantasies

How to go beyond fantasy to an interplay with Infinite Spirit

Fantasies are a healthy part of life but do not reveal Spirit. Yoga devotees identify and release fantasies rather than encourage them. Discover how yoga practice can help you transcend fantasies and dwell in your true nature.

Essential Life Skills

Enter a Divine Play

Study and take the help of your fantasies. The purpose of yoga is to pursue the real and leave delusion behind. Yoga is a progressive discovery of Spirit, the essence and consciousness which gives us life and awareness. Allow your yoga practice to become a divine play, your interplay with the Infinite Spirit. Wouldn’t that be more fulfilling than any fantasy? That’s where yoga can take you.

  • Your fantasies can tell you much about your psychological state and what you need
  • Patanjali identified five kinds of ideas: right knowledge, wrong knowledge, numbness, memories and fantasy
  • Yoga helps one control or rise above the five kinds of ideas to dwell in one’s true nature
  • Fantasies, unfortunately, often enhance the ego and emphasize self-importance
  • Spiritual experiences bring a sense of humility, sacredness and transformation
  • Analyze fantasies and use them constructively

How to Succeed

As you may know, we do not charge for our courses. All Yoga World content is free and available to you with our blessings. However, we do have a simple, but important request that’s key to the transformations necessary to succeed on the path.

We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.

I Commit to Serve

This commitment is solely between you and your inner self.
