What Are You Dipping Your Mind In?

How to overcome limiting states of mind

What do you need? What qualities or mental states would you like to change? Discover a beautiful process by which you can change your focus and transform your life.

Essential Life Skills, Mind

What Do You Need?

What quality do you need in your mind instead of the one that is hurting or limiting you? Love, light, optimism, compassion, goodness, truthfulness, faith? Choose one quality and select an object or person who represents that quality. With a friendly attitude, visualize and appreciate the chosen quality in that person. Let your mind stay on it.

In the beautiful dynamics of the way we are wired as human beings, as we keep our mind focused and flowing to that person or object, we will enter absorption. Our mind will be renewed and take on that same quality or essence.

  • Sri Ramakrishna:  The mind is everything. It’s like a white cloth just returned from the laundry. It will take any color you dye it with.
  • You can transform your mind, your life and your world by consciously focusing on something wonderful like God, the spirit within, love, truth, peace or joy
  • Samadhi means the thing itself, absorption
  • The result of absorption is that you take on the same quality of what you meditate on
  • Yogis often focus on the attributes of truth, beauty and goodness
  • What do you need in your life? Focus your mind on an image of your ideal and your mind will assume a sameness with that quality

How to Succeed

As you may know, we do not charge for our courses. All Yoga World content is free and available to you with our blessings. However, we do have a simple, but important request that’s key to the transformations necessary to succeed on the path.

We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.

I Commit to Serve
