Developing the Eyes of a Yogi — Part 2

How do we release ignorance and see Spirit?

To see with the eyes of a yogi is to distinguish between changing forms and the unchangeable Spirit. Yogis are able to see the eternal, spiritual essence within themselves and others. Discover the reality from which all forms come — beautiful, underlying Spirit.

Yoga in Daily Life

Who We Really Are

We begin to see who we really are — the permanent, eternal, glorious self. In clearing the mind and heart, we can see the essence of ourselves and others.

Soul to soul we behold one another. We recognize the everlasting self, the Spirit of God, within everyone. When we pronam, we are affirming:  My soul bows to your soul. I acknowledge, respect, honor and appreciate the spirit in you.

  • We realize that Spirit is permanent and it is the world which is ever-changing
  • Our senses, mind, emotions and egos are all impermanent. It is only the soul, the true self, which is permanent and eternal
  • Cessation of misery corresponds to the removal of ignorance
  • Pure Spirit, the essence of everything, is the substratum from which all changing forms emerge
  • Looking at others, we see their spiritual core, their magnificent soul
  • Yogis seek to experience the eternal essence within everything
