You Are God's Partner — A Jewish Approach

How to become God's co-partner

In the book The Jewish Path to God, Lionel Blue wrote that Jews are co-partners with God in the work of creation. Yogis also feel that God is expressing through us to further His creation and that we are all invited to be a partner with the Creator. Explore ways God can use you.

Yoga in Daily Life, Receptivity

An Instrument of God

In essence, the Jew believes that she or he is an instrument of God and finds fulfillment, spirituality, and holiness in living for the Lord, serving Him and His ongoing creation.

  • Sri Ramakrishna taught that this is God’s divine play and that God is expressing through us. We are here to further God’s creation
  • Lionel Blue wrote that Jews view their lives as instruments of God, co-partners with the Lord in the work of creation
  • As a result of this understanding, we begin to live as if heaven is here on Earth and we are expressing heaven into the Earth
  • Practice:  Consider your hands and reflect, “How could the Lord use these hands?”
  • What is the task you are working on as God’s partner? What are your talents?
  • Spirit wants to move and express through us

How to Succeed

As you may know, we do not charge for our courses. All Yoga World content is free and available to you with our blessings. However, we do have a simple, but important request that’s key to the transformations necessary to succeed on the path.

We ask you to commit two hours a week to selfless service. This service can be anything you choose ranging from helping a family member or neighbor to volunteering at a nonprofit organization.

I Commit to Serve

This commitment is solely between you and your inner self.
