RAMAKRISHNA ANANDA

Superconscious Techniques — Part 2

How can you experience the soul? 9/23/26

Yoga provides many ways to contact the soul and receive its guidance. This video continues the exploration of practices leading to soul awareness and higher states of spiritual absorption. The soul is continually seeking to reveal itself. You can sense its love, assistance, wisdom and comfort any time, day or night.

Ishvara Pranidhan

In the bhakti (devotional) yoga practice of Ishwara Pranidham, one strives to see God in everyone and everything. Gaze at an object or mentally hold it in your mind while chanting Reveal Thyself, Reveal Thyself. God is capable of revealing an aspect of Himself through the chosen object, usually through light or an intuitive flash.

In this practice, we are asking God to use the chosen object like a window to bring insight and joy. The Lord can show us what we need to know, revealing the part He is playing through the object, situation or person. Wonderful gifts from the Divine can be received through this practice.

  • Part 1 covered three approaches for developing soul awareness:  1) gazing at the horizon; 2) witnessing the world like a movie; and 3) friendliness toward the meditation object
  • Through the practice of Ishwara Pranidham, one seeks to recognize the presence of the Divine in all people and all things
  • One technique from jnana (wisdom) yoga involves choosing an object of inquiry and mentally expanding it to infinity
  • People frequently receive help from the soul while sleeping, especially if they have difficulty experiencing spiritual dimensions while awake
