RAMAKRISHNA ANANDA

The Great Discovery

How do we increase contact with the Divine Spirit?

Yoga reveals that Spirit is manifesting the universe and all living creatures. As we grow in spiritual awareness, we experience the delight and sweetness of life more and more. Through yoga we go beyond identification with matter (physical body, thoughts and feelings) to the realization that we are actually spiritual beings expressing through physical bodies.

The Divine Play

Seeing everything as a manifestation of the Divine leads to a growing intimacy with Spirit. Sometimes you may become aware of light everywhere. At other times you feel joy or ecstasy. Being open to these experiences makes them happen more often.

As you progress, you discover Spirit, and that It is expressing in the universe — including within you. You develop a growing sense of the Divine living and moving within you as awareness, light, bliss, joy and love. You begin to experience your life as an interplay — an interaction between your individual wave of Spirit with other waves of Spirit (other people); and interactions between each wave of Spirit (each person) with the vast ocean of Spirit (the Infinite Spirit). At this stage, you become more aware of the delight of life. Yogis call this the Lila, the Divine interplay between people and the Infinite.

  • Yoga reveals that Spirit is everywhere and in everyone
  • Spirit is knowable. It reveals Itself in various ways, including consciousness, light, bliss, love and joy
  • Yoga practice encourages the inactive latent spiritual energy within us to move and express
  • Each of us is a unique expression of the Divine
  • Through yoga you discover that you are a spiritual being
  • The more you identify with soul and Spirit, the more fulfilled your life becomes
