Yoga and Metaphysics

Yoga and Metaphysics

What is the relationship between yoga and metaphysics? Both emphasize: 1) that new causes bring new effects and 2) that spiritual awareness involves an ascent into higher consciousness followed by a descent (or manifestation) of that higher consciousness into daily life, health and well being.

The Expanded State

Through meditation we are able to expand our consciousness. We can then experience Spirit and see the world spiritually. We live our daily lives in a higher level of consciousness.

Mortal and Universal Mind — Part 2

Mortal and Universal Mind — Part 2

As we calm our mortal thinking mind and feeling, we enter the vast universal mind. We begin to understand what yogis, mystics and metaphysicians experience.

Mortal and Universal Mind — Part 1

Mortal and Universal Mind — Part 1

As you quiet your mortal mind and its concerns, you’re able to enter the vast universal mind. Ramakrishna Ananda describes some of these high experiences. You also discover your true self, your soul, that which is eternal, pure and painless.

The Main Yoga and Your Spiritual Feeling

The Main Yoga and Your Spiritual Feeling

Find the steps to experiencing the heart’s true feeling. Your emotional nature is a powerful force and, when used positively, can significantly help you develop in yoga. Your strong and clear feelings are great assets.

About Gurus

The term guru can be defined simply as teacher. But satguru means spiritual guide, dispeller of spiritual ignorance. Satgurus have three functions: 1) as guides; 2) as dispellers of delusions; and 3) as matchmakers who assist the seeker in having a closer relationship with Spirit.

The Triple Transformation

The Triple Transformation

Here are signs you are progressing toward living in divine love. Ramakrishna Ananda explains Sri Aurobindo’s Triple Transformation as a beautiful method for spiritual awakening. Let your own life experiences be your teacher.

What is the Spiritual Part of Yoga?

Find out how to live aware of Spirit in yourself and others. Yoga leads our awareness beyond body, mind and emotions to experiences and realizations of Spirit. Spirit is our essence, the source of life and consciousness.

Honor the Life Force

Honor the Life Force

Yogis distinguish between Infinite Spirit (Brahman) and Shakti, the force which creates the universe. Ramakrishna Ananda explains the need to honor Shakti and this life force flowing within us.

Spiritualize Your Thoughts

Spiritualize Your Thoughts

How can we spiritualize our thoughts? Attune with Spirit first. Then think. Ramakrishna Ananda shows the way.
